We take security very seriously and have just had a comprehensive review done by a computer security expert who recently emigrated to NZ from the US.
As a result, we are currently having robust new measures installed, including encryption software, to protect client data, including taxpayer identification numbers.
Also, very shortly files will no longer be sent by email but will be available for a short period of time for our clients to access themselves from a given URL.
In addition, I am doing away with my desktop and am switching to laptop permanently in order to provide a better service when meeting clients in terms of being able to access anything and everything, email and scan documents on the spot.
This will dovetail nicely with the ability to access clients’ records for return preparation through our software provider’s tax import feature.
