US persons, including US citizens and resident aliens, now qualify for economic relief under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020 which was signed into law on March 18, 2020 .

Every American adult with adjusted gross income (AGI) on their 2018 or 2019 US individual income tax return of up to US $99,000 (US $198,000 for married couples filing a joint return) can expect to receive a payment of up to US $1,200/$2,400 for joint filers. 

These measures form part of a suite of financial support including emergency paid sick leave, emergency family medical level, cover for COVID-19 testing, expansion of unemployment benefits.

Payments are scheduled to start later this month.
